Its Modernist architecture takes you through charming historic streets to the magnificent Central Market, one of the city’s jewels and the nerve centre of local gastronomy. Just a few metres away is the Silk Exchange, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose unique architecture you’ll discover as you stroll through its interior before emerging onto Plaza del Doctor Collado.
From there, colourful alleyways, little squares where time seems to stand still, and small local shops. The vintage fashion at the Tapinería Market or the ceramics crafted using local techniques — such as ‘socarrat’ or ‘trencadís’ — in the Plaza Redonda are a living testament to the fact that Valencia has history, personality and much to say to anyone willing to listen.
