Discover historic Valencia on a tour through the heart of the city.
Stroll through the majestic Plaza del Ayuntamiento and take in the Plaza de Rodrigo Botet, a charming little square right in the city centre. Visit the imposing Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas, a jewel of Valencian Baroque architecture and home to the Ceramics Museum. Discover charming squares, such as the elegant Plaza del Patriarca, home to La Nau, Valencia’s first university (1498), and the Plaza del Parterre, where you’ll see the statue of King James I, the conqueror of Valencia. Here, we can admire the city’s botanical features, such as the centuries-old ficus trees that adorn the garden.
We’ll finish up by the historic Puerta del Mar and stroll along the iconic Calle Colón to the Colón Market, a jewel of Valencian Modernism and a symbol of bourgeois Valencia.
